The Bridgetown Morris Men

Membership

If you have a sense of humor, sense of rhythm you should be a morris dancer. It's fun, rhythmic, athletic and gets you out of the house at least once a week with a group of incredible people.

After you join, you become a 'trunkle' and we'll teach you morris dances and give you some hankies and stick. When you've got to the point where you can do our easier dances, we'll give you bells and you become a formal Bridgetown Apprentice. At the point where you can 'call' a dance from the lead position and perform a solo jig, you'll graduate to full-blown member.

Bridgetown expect all attendees to commit to all practices and to most gigs. We try not to perform during the height of summer when many members take summer vacations to make this easier. Another level of commitment is in the form of dues. Currently set at $30/quater or $10 if you're a student or unemployed we collect this at the start of each quater. The monies go towards our group expenses, covering the cost of kit, group travel and event subsidies.
